TRAINING COURSES

Students must bring to Training:

• Nail Students: Paper Towel, Foam Rest, UV/LED Lamp, Soak Bowl, Foil
• Manicure & Pedicure Students: Paper Towel
• Waxing Students: Paper Towel, 800g Wax Warmer
• Eyelash Extension Students: Paper Towel

WORKSHOPS

Prerequisites:

Please be aware that some workshops have specific prerequisite qualifications or skills. These qualifications are necessary to ensure a productive learning experience for all participants.

• Verification of Qualifications: Students are encouraged to review the workshop description and confirm they possess the necessary prerequisites before registering.
• Unsuitable Skills or Qualifications: In the event an educator determines that a student lacks the required skills or qualifications for a workshop on the training day, the student will be offered the following options:
  • Deferral: The student can choose to defer their attendance to a future workshop date once they have obtained the necessary qualifications. A 70% credit will be issued towards a future workshop.
  • Refund: If deferral is not an option, a 50%refund will be issued.
• Workshops do not require exams. Attendance certificates will be issued for workshops upon completion of satisfactory work.

By ensuring students meet the necessary prerequisites, we strive to create a positive learning environment where everyone can actively participate and achieve success.

I understand and agree to the following: Once full payment is made, the Theory Manual will be emailed to me within 24 hours. The Training Kit will be ordered and couriered to the relevant Training Centre. It is my responsibility to study the Theory Manual before attending the Training Course. Should I have any questions, I will have the opportunity to ask your educator for assistance during the Training Course. Please note that if you need to change the Course you want to attend, you will be responsible for any delivery and administrative charges associated with exchanging the Training Kits. The Training Kit cannot be exchanged once it has been opened and used. **Theory Manuals are only applicable to Training Courses.

REGISTRATION

• Full Payment Required: All courses must be paid in full before the Course start date. This ensures a confirmed training spot and avoids any delays.
• Confirmation and Scheduling: Training dates are confirmed upon receipt of full payment.
• Rescheduling: Both Planet Nails and the student reserve the right to reschedule training dates with a minimum of 3 weeks’ notice.
• Late Changes by Student: If a student needs to change the confirmed Training date within 3 weeks of the original start date, a 30% cancellation fee will be applied to the Training price. An additional 30% payment will be required to secure a new Training date.
• Cancellations: Students cancelling their Training for any reason will forfeit a 50% cancellation fee. The remaining 50% of the Training price will be refunded.

STUDENTS REQUIRING ADDITIONAL SUPPORT

Planet Nails Training Academy strives to provide a welcoming and inclusive learning environment for all students. We recognize that some students may require additional support to succeed in our courses.

• Extra Training Days: Students who require additional Training time due to learning pace or specific needs can arrange for extra Training days. There is a fee of R1500 per additional day.
• Language Assistance: If English is not your primary language and you require assistance during the Course, we recommend finding a translator to accompany you. The translator is welcome to attend the Course, but a separate registration and fee will apply.
• Exam Accommodations: Students who require modifications to the exam format (e.g., translated exam, oral exam) can make arrangements in advance. There is a fee of R1500 per accommodation type. Students are responsible for providing a qualified translator if needed.
• Receipts and Forms: Students are entitled to request and receive a receipt for their payment and a copy of the completed registration form.
• One-on-One Training: Individualized, one-on-one training is available for an additional 25% fee.

VERY IMPORTANT

Students must provide live models during Training.

This is important as working on a Practice Hand and a live model is not the same at all.

If student does not bring a live model on below days, student must book and pay for extra days at R1500 per day to redo days.

Students are required to attend Courses without any artificial product on their nails. Students will work on their own nails.

• Acrylic:  1 Model on the last day of the Course (09:00 – 16:00)
• Gel:  1 Model on the last day of the Course (09:00 – 16:00)
• Acrylic & Gel:  1 Model day 3 and 6 of the Course – 2 models in total (09:00 – 16:00)
• Manicure & Pedicure:  1 Model on each day of the Course – 2 models in total (09:00 – 16:00)
• Waxing:  1 Model on each day of the Course – 3 models in total (09:00 – 16:00)
• Tinting:  1 Model on the day of the Course – (09:00 – 12:00)

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS AND ATTENDANCE:

• Dress Code: A professional appearance is expected during Training. Please wear closed-toe shoes, formal pants, and a semi-formal shirt. Long hair must be tied back for safety reasons.
• Course Completion: Full attendance and completion of all class hours are mandatory for successful Course completion. A typical 1-day Training Course consists of 7 hours.
• Class Schedule: Training classes are generally held from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM unless otherwise arranged with your Educator. This includes a daily 40-minute lunch break and two 10-minute breaks. Breaks are designated for rest and refreshment and cannot be used to shorten the Training day.
• Training dates do not include Public Holidays or Weekends.
• Attendance and Conduct: Planet Nails reserves the right to refuse Training to any student who misses scheduled classes, disrupts the learning environment, or fails to adhere to Course policies.
• Rescheduling: Rescheduling confirmed Training dates requires a minimum of 3 weeks’ notice (refer to Registration clause for details). A late reschedule fee of R1500 per day will apply for changes within the 3-week window.
• Missed Training: Students who arrive late, miss a scheduled day entirely, or are unable to complete the full Training for any reason will be charged an additional R1500 per missed day to reschedule and complete the Training.
• Additional Training: Students can request extra Training days at an additional cost of R1500 per day.
• Training Kit: Training kits will be distributed during the training and should remain at the training venue until the course is completed.
• Conversion Courses: Students enrolling in Conversion Courses must provide proof of prior training and qualifications. Students attending Conversion Courses are responsible for bringing or purchasing any required products beforehand. Only Planet Nails products are permitted for use during Conversions. Conversion Courses are charged at a rate of R1500 per day.
• Conversion Courses do not include exams. Attendance certificates will be issued for workshops upon completion of satisfactory work.
• Student Work and Social Media: Planet Nails may use photos of students and their work done during class hours for promotional purposes on the Planet Nails Facebook page.
• Performance and Additional Training: Educators may recommend additional Training days at R1500 per day if a student’s skill level requires further development after the initial training period.

FULL COURSES:
If a course is full, meaning that more than 6 Students booked, you will automatically be moved to the next available date. If a Course date did not receive a minimum of 3 Students who booked, you will be moved to the next available date. Dates are subject to change without prior notice. Courses needs to have between 3 and 6 Students to be confirmed.

TRAINING DATES:
The training dates listed on our website do not include weekends or public holidays

COMPLETING YOUR QUALIFICATION:

• To qualify for certification, students are required to complete and submit 50 practical hours/case studies per system covered in the training course. Specific details and expectations will be discussed thoroughly on the last day of your training.
• We understand that challenges may arise during the process. If you require additional support at any stage, don’t hesitate to contact your educator or our office to schedule a refresher session. Refresher sessions are available for an additional fee of R1500 per day.
• Once your educator is satisfied with the quality of your practical work, you will be eligible to book your theory and practical exams. Exam bookings can be made by emailing info@pntraining.co.za .

Exams and Certification:

• To successfully achieve your qualification, students must pass both the theory and practical exams with a minimum score of 80% in each section.
• Exams must be completed within 12 months of finishing your course. Exam fees are R1500 per system.
• A late fee of R500 per system will apply to exams booked after 12 months, bringing the total fee to R2000 per system.
• Exams cannot be attempted more than 24 months after course completion. If this timeframe has elapsed, the entire course must be re-enrolled and completed before exam eligibility is restored.

Exam Requirements:

• Students are responsible for providing a live model for the practical exam.
• All exam materials and products used must be from the Planet Nails Training Kit. Only Planet Nails products are permitted during exams.
• Exam eligibility requires full attendance and completion of all class hours.
• Submitted practical hours/case studies must be approved before booking exams.

Certification:

Upon successful completion and passing of both exams, your Educator will initiate the request for your official certificate.
